Sapporo 札幌

We headed to Sapporo from Chitose airport by train. My parents enjoyed their first Hokkaido scenery from windows. It was a beautiful weather, we were happy to escape from rainy season. (Hokkaido is said that it doesn’t have a rainy season.)
First we visited former Hokkaido prefectural office building. It was built in 1888.
千歳空港からJRで札幌へ。新婚旅行以来初めての飛行機に、母は「こんなに早く着いてしまって、北海道へ来た実感がわかないわ。」と言いながら、車窓を楽しんでおりました。梅雨の本州を脱出して、良い天気。
札幌駅から、まずは北海道庁旧本庁舎。


You can come in the building.
内部の一部は一般公開されている。ここはかつての執務室。天井は高く、立派なお部屋。



I’ve been there for a few times. But I didn’t remember how nice it was.
何度か訪れたことがあるけど、内部がこんなにも素敵だとは。



There were trees, flowers and ponds around the building. People were enjoying their free time.
建物の周囲には、木々や花壇、池があり人々の憩いの場になっていた。


We walked to Tokeidai. It was better and bigger than my memory. There were some volunteers in front of the building, they took photos for tourists and guided them.
しばらく歩くと、札幌市時計台。昔の記憶より、立派だった。
建物の前にはボランティアの方がいて、カメラのシャッターを押してくれる。


We entered in the building. It was built of wood, reminded me my elementary school buildings.
It looked like a church on the second floor.
内部では、一階ではいろいろな展示、二階では講堂のようになっていた。時計の仕組みを学べる映像があった。しばし休憩。
木造で、昔の小学校のよう。


There was a park, Odori-koen near Tokeidai. There were many people.
Sapporo snow festival is held in this park.
We bought a boiled corn at a stand and ate it. It was delicious and sweet.
時計台から少し歩くと、大通公園。
人々は思い思いに和んでいました。花も人もたくさん。
２月の雪まつりには、大きな雪像や、市民作成の小さな雪像がここに並ぶ。
屋台でとうきびを買った。甘くておいしい。


We decided to go to Sapporo television tower.
せっかくだからと、テレビ塔へ。


We looked down from TV tower.
テレビ塔の展望台から札幌市を眺める。


Odori park. We could see a ski jumping place on a hill.
向こうに大倉山のスキーのジャンプ台も見えました。
